If You’re Under 18 and Something Feels Off

If you’re under 18 and you keep thinking:

  • “Why does this keep happening to me?”
  • “I get into trouble even when I try to explain.”
  • “I feel bad, but I don’t know why.”
  • “They don’t really believe me.”
  • “I can’t say what I actually feel.”
  • “I’m tired of pretending I’m fine.”

You do not need to know exactly what is wrong before talking about what has been happening.

Students & Young People

Students, We Know It’s Not Easy

Do some of these thoughts sound familiar?

  • “Why do I feel overwhelmed and lonely all the time?”
  • “Why do people talk about me or comment negatively on me?”
  • “Why was I cheated on or replaced even after giving everything?”
  • “Why do my career plans and even my identity feel so unsure?”
  • “Why do I keep comparing myself to everyone?”
  • “Why do I feel like crying but can’t explain what I’m feeling?”
  • “Why do I overthink everything, all the time?”
  • “What about the things I can’t even say out loud?”

You do not need to know exactly what is wrong before talking to someone. For younger students, explore our child and teen counselling options.

Working Adults & Professionals

When Work Starts Affecting the Rest of Your Life

Is this what finally brought you here?

  • Panic-like moments before or after work.
  • Constant anxiety about your job, income or performance.
  • Sleep disturbed by mistakes, numbers or worst-case thinking.
  • Feeling emotionally numb or detached after work.
  • Using scrolling, alcohol or isolation just to switch off.
  • Too responsible to quit, but too exhausted to keep going.

Work pressure can quietly move into your sleep, relationships and everyday life. If work itself has become the main source of stress, explore our workplace anxiety counselling support.

Men

Men have emotions too, even when they don’t always show them.

  • Sleep disruption, constant worry, overthinking.
  • Emotional numbness or sudden overload.
  • Relationship strain, infidelity, family pressure.
  • Financial stress and provider responsibility.
  • Depression, anxiety, trauma, feeling stuck.
  • Feeling disrespected, overlooked, undervalued.

You don’t have to fight this alone. No judgement. Just an honest conversation.

Women

We know women carry more than most people realise.

  • Panic attacks, sudden anxiety, racing heart.
  • Crying spells, constant overthinking.
  • Emotional exhaustion and relationship tension.
  • Feeling invisible, unheard, taken for granted.
  • Hormonal mood shifts, sleep instability.
  • Body image concerns, quiet depression.

This isn’t “too sensitive.” It’s what happens when emotional load builds too long.

LGBTQ+

Living as yourself should not feel dangerous or exhausting.

  • Living a double life, one version at home, another outside.
  • Fear of being outed or losing family, job, or safety.
  • Rejection or emotional cut-off from loved ones.
  • Religious or cultural shame attached to your identity.
  • A relationship that cannot be acknowledged publicly.
  • Constant hyper-vigilance in public spaces.
  • Anxiety, panic, or depression linked to hiding yourself.
  • Internalised shame affecting confidence and self-worth.
  • Trauma from bullying, discrimination, or past abuse.
  • Feeling isolated, even within your own community.

Long-term identity stress doesn’t stay “mental.” It affects sleep, trust, relationships, and your sense of safety. You don’t have to keep navigating this alone.

How LeapHope Works

Questions About LeapHope Therapists & Care

How does LeapHope select psychologists and therapists?

LeapHope reviews professional qualifications, relevant registration, years of experience, therapy training and scope of practice before a therapist is listed. A psychology degree alone is not treated as enough. We look for professionals able to provide structured psychological care.

Is therapy at LeapHope more than just talking?

Yes. Depending on the therapist and concern, sessions may use CBT, DBT, EFT, Gottman Method, EMDR or other structured approaches. Therapy can include goals, exercises, pattern work and progress review rather than remaining an open-ended conversation.

Does LeapHope have clinical psychologists for more complex concerns?

Yes. LeapHope includes RCI-registered clinical psychologists alongside counselling psychologists and specialist therapists. When clinical expertise is needed, care can be directed to a professional whose qualifications and scope are appropriate for that need.

Can I book a psychological assessment through LeapHope?

Yes, where appropriate. Selected RCI-registered clinical psychologists on the LeapHope team provide psychological assessment within their professional scope. Assessment and diagnosis are not presented as services that every counsellor or therapist can provide.

How does LeapHope support NRIs and Indians living abroad?

LeapHope works with clients across India and NRI regions including the USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Australia and Singapore. Sessions can be coordinated across time zones, with access to Indian therapists familiar with Indian family, relationship and cultural contexts.

Can I choose a male or female psychologist?

Yes. You can choose based on gender preference, qualifications, experience, therapy approach, language and client population. LeapHope does not require clients to accept the first therapist who happens to have an available appointment.

Can I have therapy in English and an Indian language?

Yes, depending on the therapist you choose. The team works across English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Assamese and other languages. When your therapist speaks both fluently, you can naturally move between languages within the same session.

What happens if my therapist is not the right fit?

You can request another therapist. LeapHope can help identify a more suitable match, and there is no additional therapist-switching charge. You should not have to restart the entire search process because the first therapeutic fit was not right.

Does LeapHope help after I have booked a therapist?

Yes. Support continues with scheduling, time-zone coordination, session access, therapist changes and practical booking concerns. If your needs change, LeapHope can also help identify whether another professional or level of care may be more suitable.

Do all LeapHope therapists use the same therapy approach?

No. The team includes professionals trained in CBT, DBT, EFT, Gottman Method, EMDR, behavioural approaches, mindfulness, family systems and expressive arts. The approach should reflect the therapist's actual training and the client's therapeutic needs.

Can I come to LeapHope without having a diagnosis?

Yes. Clients may seek therapy for burnout, loneliness, work pressure, breakups, dating, marriage, parenting, migration, cultural conflict or simply feeling emotionally stuck. A formal diagnosis is not required before beginning psychological support.

What makes LeapHope different from an online therapist directory?

LeapHope does not stop at displaying therapist profiles. The platform combines therapist screening, visible credentials, clinical professionals, multilingual care, NRI scheduling, therapist switching and support through the client journey.
