Book Individual Counselling →Before You Book
Your first session is an opportunity to explain what has been troubling you, how long it has been happening and what you hope to change. Dr. Sachitra will listen, ask relevant questions and work with you to understand the concerns that need attention. You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or know exactly what to say.
Dr. Sachitra has over 20 years of counselling experience and works with concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, PTSD and trauma-related difficulties. During counselling, he considers how these difficulties affect your daily life, relationships and wellbeing. Some concerns may also require psychiatric assessment or coordinated medical care, which can be discussed when appropriate.
Yes. You can attend individually even if your spouse is unwilling to participate. Many people seek counselling to understand repeated arguments, emotional distance, infidelity, loss of trust or uncertainty about their marriage. Individual sessions can help you examine your situation and consider your options without pressure to make an immediate relationship decision.
Yes. Dr. Sachitra works with couples experiencing infidelity, trust difficulties, communication breakdowns and ongoing marital conflict. Counselling provides space for both partners to discuss what has happened and what each person needs going forward. The aim is not to force reconciliation or separation, but to support clearer understanding and informed decisions. He has completed Gottman Method Level 1 training.
Yes. Couples living apart, including NRIs in long-distance marriages, can enquire about attending a shared online session from different locations. Both partners should be able to join at the agreed appointment time from a private space. LeapHope can confirm the joining arrangements when the session is booked.
Yes. Dr. Sachitra also works with family concerns, including strained family relationships, communication difficulties and conflicts between family members. Depending on the situation, counselling may involve an individual family member or a joint family session. The people who should participate can be considered according to the concern and the purpose of counselling.
Yes. Parents can seek guidance about ADHD-related difficulties, anxiety, emotional changes, behavioural concerns and challenges affecting a child's everyday life. Dr. Sachitra works with children and adolescents, and the first discussion can help establish whether parent guidance, counselling for the child or another form of assessment or support is appropriate.
Yes. Dr. Sachitra offers online counselling for clients in India, NRIs and people living internationally. This can be especially useful when personal difficulties involve Indian family expectations, marriage, relationships across countries or adjusting to life away from home. International appointment arrangements depend on availability and any applicable local professional requirements.
Yes. Dr. Sachitra provides counselling in English, Hindi and Bengali. You can mention your preferred language when booking so that you can discuss sensitive or personal concerns in the language that feels most comfortable.
His approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, clinical hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). He has also completed Gottman Method Level 1 training for relationship work. The approach considered will depend on your concerns, preferences and counselling goals rather than using one method for everyone.

For family sessions or pricing applicable to clients in India, please check the relevant LeapHope booking arrangements before confirming an appointment.
Counselling involves discussing personal information, so privacy and professional confidentiality are important. The limits of confidentiality, including situations involving safety or legal obligations, should be understood before treatment. Dr. Sachitra provides psychological counselling and does not prescribe psychiatric medication. If medication may be helpful, a qualified psychiatrist or medical doctor can assess that separately.
